Crispy Mornings

The cooler weather has arrived.....and so too, has the signal that it is here to stay. As much as I dislike the thought of the wind and snow that will soon be at our doorstep, I do LOVE to see the Juncos return. These pretty little birds arrived this weekend telling me to get ready....the cooler weather is not going anywhere, anytime soon. But currently, the daytime temperatures are quite pleasant, allowing me to sit outside, pencil in hand, enjoying my backyard visitors.

Beautiful drawing Jill. Just today I saw these lovely birds on my feeder and remarked to DH that I had once looked up their name but had forgotten. So your blog entry was much appreciated both for its beauty but also for the memory jog!

I love Juncos too. They are so tiny and quick; like chickadees, but more formally dressed.
The doodle/tattoo seems very up to date in 2014. Nice bright little eye.

I am trying to embrace the Fall and its cooler temperatures like never before. This precious little birdie is beautiful. Falling into Autumn Bliss...

He's adorable, Jill! I love seeing Juncos and cardinals in the snow...we only see a few of them before we head south. I used to keep track and bird count with Cornell U. What fun that was!!

Oh that's a wonderful beautiful junco you drew - thanks for sharing. I feel as you do, they came into my backyard feeders 10 days ago.
