I loosen anything that needs it with my needle, use tweezers to roll the paper, gently tug, and then it's gone. I finish the last few stitches and that part is done.<br />Very large sections still do need the back slit though.sewnuthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05007381015104001916noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8340919082867274863.post-86494697785799259602011-03-10T07:02:41.218-05:002011-03-10T07:02:41.218-05:00This comment has been removed by the author.sewnuthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05007381015104001916noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8340919082867274863.post-81521395566228656482011-03-07T22:08:04.521-05:002011-03-07T22:08:04.521-05:00oh my goodness it's to DIE for!! I keep the glue sticks in my fridge so they don't get gloppy -- although my guests sometimes make fun of me.Karen Shttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00471057380298714556noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8340919082867274863.post-25934191855929751452011-02-28T20:50:10.543-05:002011-02-28T20:50:10.543-05:00Absolutely LOVE what you are doing - and how you a...Absolutely LOVE what you are doing - and how you are making it. I have just remembered I have a teflon sheet here that I can place fabric pieces on - with the freezer paper, and the fabric bits stick together, and the freezer paper is ready to put on the background. Must admit - I really had forgotten about it...I think maybe your way is heaps better. How many blocks are you doing - its so lovely - and intricate.Joanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14799669507142985448noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8340919082867274863.post-71228574188383992502011-02-28T18:10:30.168-05:002011-02-28T18:10:30.168-05:00Glue...I am doing a similar method to Jill, except...Glue...I am doing a similar method to Jill, except I take out the paper before stitching and don't do the slit in the back method. For glue, I use "Roxane's glue baste" because if I need to, I can dampen the fabric and remove a piece to another area. This glue washes out. It also glues down very quickly. I have never used it before but it is my favorite now!Sherri https://www.blogger.com/profile/04928191196045775058noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8340919082867274863.post-60859154721227560862011-02-28T18:05:58.644-05:002011-02-28T18:05:58.644-05:00You're such a tease! I've heard people say that the rubber cement turns their applique pieces brown but I have never had that problem.Quiltbughttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15252911486301630074noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8340919082867274863.post-34957942353301215952011-02-28T13:49:28.083-05:002011-02-28T13:49:28.083-05:00Thank you!! However, I have never quite figured out placements without a lot of pins (and pricks). This way is just perfect! Wouldn't prewashing the fabric remove the scariness when immersing it in water? Does the type of glue matter?Leneslineshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12234119284479252867noreply@blogger.com
