Papercutting

Have you noticed the tabs just under my banner?  I am working to add new elements to this site, hopefully, to make it easier to find some of my more popular posts. I have several ideas for pages I'd like to place up there.....just need to make the time to get it done.

Now, of course, I could not create a post without any photos, so I thought it was time for new papercuts. One of my very first snowflake papercuts, was this one......the design features Dragonflies,  Bees and  Beetles.

I decided to revisit that theme and create these. (really just added an extra beetle and slightly changed some shapes...... This the cut, but still folded paper.

fully opened

Then I made the same cuts to another folded piece, but this time, cut a little more

As you can see, it can make quite a difference to the very same design.

At Christmas I bought my future DIL a little cheaply kit and she had so much fun cutting out the shapes. Oh, I should mention is was a stocking stuffer. Yours are so tiny, tight, and cute...no surprises coming from you though. I'm in a sea of boxes...lol

These are quite mind blowing. Do you just start cutting? I might have to draw them first but want to try this. Hum wonder what the snow flake would look like with doodles all over it?

My DD would LOVE this design as she loves dragonflies. Your work is amazing. Have you thought of doing a book? I think it would be a huge winner!

I am with BJ, I think writing a book would be a great idea. What kind of scissors do you use to cut out that delicate and detailed patterns?

They are gorgeous. Just to let you know you can't see your tabs or sidebar on a mobile or a tablet unless you scroll to the bottom and click view web version. It's a new thing with blogger. I think the solution is to un click the mobile view in your settings otherwise people will miss all your links. X

These are lovely! It does make the pattern so much more intricate using the inner cuts too! Love...

When I look at blogs on a tablet, I always view the "full" website..the app versions are often strange and or missing content.
I guess if you are using a smartphone
(small screen) you likely don't want all this stuff to appear and fill the screen....I can understand that...Hopefully, those of you, new to my blog will visit the full site from their Mac or PC to see what lives on my sidebar :-)

How many of you are cutting paper?
