Do you remember those Black & White prints I over dyed with paint? It is all part of a test process. I do like to use paints quite a bit in my quilting and really want to get a good sense of how they will stand up over time and maybe a little abuse.
I plan to let it live in the light, use it as a table topper and wash it often to document how the painted fabrics hold onto their colour ....even the "off-white" background is a painted fabric, it was originally a white tone on tone.I used some of the original black and white prints when I pieced the back.
This quilt measures 30"x 30" and is known as a "Schnibbles". Mary over at Quilt Hollow sent me this pattern called State Fair .......she confesses to being a "Schnibbles Addict".
To see more Schnibbles, head on over to Miss Rosie's Quilt Co. but be careful............. you may become one too!

I love making Schnibbles quilts. They certainly are addicting :-)
I love that you basically made your own fabric line and not like you to use somebody else's pattern as I know the true artist you are! I was glad to share and show you why I have that crazy addiction...fast, fun and instant gratification!
I just love this fabric. I will be anxious to see how it holds up. Your quilt is great too.
You continue to inspire me. :-)
Mary at Quilt Hollow sent me over and, oh my gosh, she's right...you do beautiful work! I'm bookmarking your blog so I can come back and look around some more!

Very nice work and workmanship! As is all of your work! It will be interesting to see how it holds up..but as I tell my kids..i won't be here 100 years from now so.....use my artwork, hang it up and don't hide it!
I took time to view your Picasa album of all the toy machines. I drooled! What a wonderful collection.
Great idea to test out the painted fabrics. I love the treadle machine that the new quilt is resting on!
Me and my quilting buddy were wondering what you were going to do with the fabrics. Thanks for sharing your Schnibble.
It will be interesting to find out how well the paints hold up. I understand that they're supposed to be lightfast, but only time will tell that for sure. And I know you're not really going to wait 20 years for the results before doing more paint on fabric! LOL
I think is a brilliant idea!
Oh how adorable......let us know how the colors hold up.
guess what...my postcard came today :0) Thanks so much Jill its lovely.
I put it in a magnetic plastic sleeve so I can keep it in my kitchen to enjoy everyday :0).
You do beautiful work!
Happy Sewing
Love the little table topper! Very cute. Great experiment. I look forward to results of it in due time.
I can't believe how quickly you finished this quilt -- it's a masterpiece, and it looks perfect displayed the way you did. And don't you just love saying the word, "schnibbles"?
