Gift exchange

This week's CPP word #142, is Gift, so I thought I would tell you about a "gift"exchange I made with Debbie at Stitchin Therapy
Recently I did a post talking about some materials I have begun collecting for a project I have in mind. In answer to that post, Debbie mentioned that she had a variety of threads languishing in a drawer and asked if I might like to have them. Of course, I was happy to accept these threads but wanted to send her something in exchange, and this is what we decided on.
Debbie sent me this terrific collection of mostly silk floss along with a few pearl cottons (the camera really did not catch the luscious colours in this grouping)
I drew this, and sent it on to her.
Why a Cardinal? to find out, pop on over and read Deb's post here

and take look at this photo that I took while standing near the shore of Lake Huron on Saturday.....yup, a gorgeous, sunny day at the beach in....FEBRUARY!!!!
Not exactly a typical Canadian Winter scene...... A GIFT from Mother Nature :-)

Oh my -- that cardinal is beautiful! Did you do that? Love the flosses, too! :)

Okay, so another question -- did you draw the outline for the cardinal shape, too? I'm a cardinal collector and just started dabbling in zentangle, so I'm really, really in love with this piece!! :)

Love the cardinal and the story makes it even better. I don't know if you sent it as a card, but I keep such things on an inspiration board by my desk. I like the idea of sending art/beauty out into the world.

Love all your latest doodles, Jill -- they just keep getting better and better. And those threads! Luscious!

I know you think you got the best end of the trade....but not so! I so love this cardinal...even more that it is your original doodle! It has already been "pinned" about 6 times. Wait till the world sees those fabulous silk threads on your project...I know it will be grand.

Good blog! I truly love how it is easy on my eyes and the data are well written. I am wondering how I might be notified whenever a new post has been made. I've subscribed to your feed which must do the trick! Have a great day!
