Inspiration

"Inspiration" just happens. My most recent post showed a lovely piece of vintage linen that inspired me to pick up a pencil and begin a new design.  As the week progressed, I drew, doodled, erased & drew some more, here is a look at the resulting design

In addition to drawing, I did mange to get to the machine as well. I created this greeting card using a small piece of the fabric I sunprinted this summer

What an amazing pattern. Have you ever thought of designing some fabric? I've heard of Spoon Flower as a place that prints original designs. You mentioned Wholecloth in a previous post and this would be so beautiful, stitched OR painted. It would also be a fabulous pattern to adapt to cross stitch or needle point. Hmmm, stained glass, papercutting........
Love the card too!

I missed all of June and some of July being out of country and now I am so happy to be back and able to read my favorite blogs! Your "Inspiration" has created the most amazing and interesting piece. I see this as the most delightful silk scarf or piece of hand dyed fabric and I love it in Black and White which are my favorite classic colors. You truly have a gift and thank you for sharing with us. Creative Inspiration Bliss Dear...

Fabulous! I was wondering if you can (or if you have?) talk about how you do these designs? Do you fold the paper like a snowflake so you get prefect repeats? This moth/butterfly is lovely - I collected paper cuts from China with that motif in it. And I have batiks from Bali with them as well and I often do broderie perse on appliqué blocks using them.

I can see the vintage linen in your design, Jill -- amazing, the way you incorporated it into such intricacy. I can't wait to see what this becomes in cloth. Fantastic!
