The Center

My new project is beginning to take shape. I have the center medallion together and am currently working out my ideas for the next part.

at this stage it is 30" square

This quilt is being made using mostly clothing, the only quilting cotton here is the off-white, everything else is T-Shirts and flannel P.J pants so I know I have to accept imperfections in the piecing.

You may think that working with knits in quilts can be especially challenging, but I simply stabilize the knit with a lightweight fusible on the back so that it will not stretch and change shape. I have had this fusible for a while, you see those lines?, this was a product made some time ago specifically for quilting...for a different purpose, but it is fulfilling the need in this project

It looks spectacular. I love the looks of anything with a black and white checkerboard border around it. You blew me over when I read it was clothing and knits! Great job!

OK, how cool is this?! Almost all clothing - and so very pretty to start with. Thanks for sharing how to work with the knits.

Nice accuracy of the flower bud points meeting, symmetry has a need for accuracy, making it look totally outstanding.

This is very lovely with sew many elements of interest. How fun to use pieces of clothing...just like in olden days when that was the only available options. Sharing Joy and Jingles...
