Quilt Bloggers are the BEST!!!
Michele Foster, aka Mishka at Quilting Gallery, contacted me to let me know she was featuring The Quilt Rat as part of her new Shout out Thursdays. Are you familiar with the site? There is so much going on there........quilters forums, swaps, shop finder, weekly contests..........the list goes on, not to mention the fact that there are links to more than 4,000 amazing quilts blogs from every corner of the world. A HUGE thank you to Michele for this honour, I am so delighted.
So to celebrate, I have decided to have a small give-away combining quilting and my doodles.
Leave me a comment telling me which is your favouite doodle (you can see them all here) and I'll send you a quilted postcard just like the one above. I was printing a label the other day and had a little space left near the bottom of the page......never do I want to waste treated fabric so I added this image along with some text. Then it was just a matter of getting in a little free motion practice. I quite like the result. I will choose the winner.........or maybe winners on Monday.
Now Michele, I think to properly thank you, you should automatically be a winner......just let me know which doodle you'd most like and I'll be sure to get it ready for you.
Here are a couple of postcards that were done for guild, more hand applique, what a difference colour and fabric selection makes in the look........and yet I like them both.

My favourite Doodle is the mandala with the flying geese all around. Being a quilter this one has great appeal to me.
I recently introduced Zentangle to our Guild here in Sudbury and referenced your blog at the demonstration.
I love your work and hope to have a chance to meet you in Calgary at the CQA conference.
Thanks for the chance to win one of your precious works of art.

OMG, I was going to choose the iron - but then I saw the rooster - and then I looked at more and liked the little mouse. I don't know, they are all soooooooo very nice. So, maybe I'll go with the rooster.
An opportunity to have one!!! and we have to choose a favortie???
I take any one of them... and have often lusted when you have posted one.... but I'd love the cupcake or the rooster or the feathers, or ANY of the Mandalas.... How about that for picking 1?
You make me wish I was a doodler. But somewhere in early grade school, a comment was made that doodlers were 'not' 'smart' and so I automatically associated doodling... well you know how it goes.

Pick just one? That's like eating one M -- can't do it. But if I HAD to ... hmmmm....queen. Or quiet. Summer, yeah, that's it. No, gracious. Ok -- can't do it.
I suppose you'll pick the person who CAN pick just one...
I've been following your blog for a long time and I LOVE your drawings. It's so hard to pick a favorite. I particularly enjoy Spiral and Spirit. You are an inspiration!
thank you for your generousity! i agree with the others, having to pick just one....
after much consideration :), my favorite doodle is 'journey' cause that's what life is- a journey....
*fingers crossed*

My favourite Doddle is the pear. I love your blog and one day I'll try Zentangle.
Happy quilting from Switzerland

You are so sweet, thank you. It was so hard to choose, but I'll go with the Queen.
Will add a note to your post about the give-away too.
Have a great weekend!

I love ALL your drawings. They are just fabulous and it's not easy to choose just one. But I've decided my favourite is "Quiet". Such a cute little mouse ... or is he a rat?
Thanks for a very generous giveaway.

Wow! They are all so beautiful! What a talent you have! If I were to choose a favourite, it would have to be 'Kindness' it jumped right out of the page at me, and you've just given me a fabulous idea for labels for Quilt of Valour! Thank you for your own kindness and generosity with this giveaway!
WOW!!! They are amazing, how can you pick just one. I think I'd go with "points" though... Absolutely beautiful.
WOWSERS! If there was a gun to my head to pick a favorite I'd have to say Spiral ~ but they are all so magnificent. Not only are you talented but so generous as well. I love the hand appliqued flower in black and white ~ may have to try something like that... or maybe a paper pieced pattern all in black and whites ~ such inspiration!
My favorite Doodle is Spiral the Seahorse. I love seahorses and the ocean. Have you ever thought about doing seashells?
You are an insipration. So creative. I love all the designs, but my favorite is the Thistle.
Guess I think of myself as a weed in the flower garden of live. After all, weeds are really just wildflowers. Love the blog!

What a wonderful, generous giveaway! I've loved ALL your beautiful doodles, and it was really hard to narrow it down. But if it comes down to one, I think I'd have to go with "Kindness" the heart. Because I love hearts....they're my favorite shape. Although "Steam" the iron is a close 2nd!
So many of them spoke to me; they are lovely works of art. I liked Tree and Air.
It is really hard to pick just one, but I like the cupcake. Followed by the heart and the spirit doll. Hope I win.
my eyes keep returning to "spirit". I look at the others and linger a while, but then I go back to the image that is strongest :)
I love the sun!! And it would be great with this quote
“And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same”
Great stuff!!!

It is almost impossible for me to choose just one of your doodles as my favorite, Jill -- if you had a fan club, I'd nominate myself for president. Since I'm limited to just one choice, I'd have to pick "Journey," because it speaks to me of where I am right now. With the support of great new friends such as you, this truly is a wonderful journey. Thank you for sharing your talents with me and with all of us.
Diane
I looked just for fun, but I already knew my favourite, you call it 'sweet' . It is the cupcake. I absolutely adore it.
thank you,
Jackie
Hi Jill
I have always loved the dandelion with the fluff blowing off into the wind. I love all of your doodles, actually. Thanks for sharing your soul with all of us. The Cozy Quilter
What a great slideshow of your artwork!
Although it was difficult to pick one, I think my favorite sketch is "Kindness". I could totally see that framed & in my office!
I like them all so if I win, I will take one of each. :P
And I agree, both flowers look amazing!
too hard to pick just one, but I guess I pick Time, because I never have enough of it!
I love them all......but "window" is by far my favorite.
I've said it before and and I'll say it again.....You are so talented and creative.
thank you for a chance to win a piece of your lovely art work.
Happy Sewing and creating
This has been WONDERFUL! I stumbled across your blog today, following a link from a blog from one of our guild members. On a rainy, cold (yes, I know I live in California and this supposedly doesn't happen. 44 degrees outside, pouring rain, and winds gusting to 20 mph) day, I find this feast for the eyes. Thank you for sharing. And, I agree with the others. After agonizing and re-visiting all your wonderful doodles, I chose Dream. Not only is it beautiful, but it's an awesome representation of the spiritual. Now, on to doing something wonderful with all those colors in my craft room.
Ellen
Just stunning!!! My favourite would have to be "Kindness" Thank you for the giveaway. I would love to be the winner. Happy days.
